The library on Kar-Charrat is one of the wonders of the Universe. It is also hidden from all but a few select species. The Doctor and Ace discover that the librarians have found a new way of storing data - a wetworks facility - but the machine has attracted unwanted attention, and the Doctor soon finds himself pitted against his oldest and deadliest enemies - the Daleks!

Review By J. - This audio adventure is one of four Big Finish productions that tie into the "Dalek Empire" line. These stories, one each for Doctor's five through eight, all provide great examples of early events which lead to the Last Great Time War of the new series. In this adventure the Seventh Doctor, played brilliantly by Sylvester McCoy, and his companion Ace, played by Sophie Aldred, travel to the great library to return overdue books the Doctor borrowed. The library contains a "Wet Works" facility, which houses all the knowledge in the universe, a valuable prize for the Daleks. This is a great adventure, and one which provides an interesting example of a water based life form, long before the new series episode "The Waters of Mars". (Posted on March 7, 2013)
