It was a typical Tuesday evening in Kilbrody. Cathy Long was on her way to collect her drunken father from the pub; Ozzy O’Reilly was in the graveyard watching the Dublin bus through his binoculars; and Charlie Finn was pulling pints for the stragglers at the bar, with another three-and-a-half hours to go if Charlie managed to get everyone out on time.
