Sharpe’s Trafalgar is a notable book in the popular Sharpe series written by English author Bernard Cornwell. These books were turned into a television series for ITV that ran from 1993-1997 starring actor Sean Bean as the leading character Richard Sharpe. Cornwell revels in stories filled to the brim with romance and adventure, often set with a dark wartime backdrop. His flair for telling historical tales is unmatched and in no other stories is this more evident that in the Sharpe novels.
Sharpe’s Trafalgar is a maritime adventure set back in 1805 that sees heroic character Richard Sharpe at the centre of one of the most historical significant battles ever fought at sea. It is a dangerous nautical escapade and Cornwell successfully ensures Sharpe’s presence at Cape Trafalgar is highly plausible. A love affair, a battle and some head-to-heads with old and new enemies see Sharpe embroiled in a seafaring tale during which he meets many characters including heroes, scoundrels and rogues.
Silent Witness actor William Gaminara takes us through this unusual story told on CD audiobook that is filled to the brim with excitement, romance and an expedition that Sharpe and eager listeners won’t forget in a hurry!
