I would highly recommend this to any die-hard Who fans, as it is one of the many examples of how brilliant Patrick Troughton was, and how he made the role of The Doctor his own.

The Daleks are a constant enemy of the time travelling Time Lord Doctor Who as he and his companions struggle to defeat this mechanical mutant and alien race once and for all. Could this really be the end of the Daleks or will they prove too strong for the Doctor to exterminate them forever?
Many of the filmed episodes from this period were thrown away through lack of storage space in the pre-digital world but fortunately all the soundtracks were saved. This remastered CD audiobook stars the second incarnation of Doctor Who in the person of distinguished actor Patrick Troughton, who gives the central role a real edge compared with subsequent though equally valid interpretations.
In this tale, the TARDIS is skyjacked from Gatwick Airport and it is not too long before we find the Daleks are involved. The story involves a mix of chase and time travel with the Daleks taking an interest in what makes humans tick, as always in their pursuit of universal dominance: will they really succeed this time?
Frazer Hines, who plays one of the Doctor’s companions in the story, provides some linking narrative for this popular tale of 1967 and adapted by David Whittaker for this CD audiobook.
