Customer Reviews

Marcus Didius Falco, the widely popular Roman sleuth from Lindsey Davis’ bestselling Falco series, is back again in his twentieth exciting adventure. Unfortunately, as the story begins we find our hero overcome by woe. Recently bereaved, having lost both his newborn son and his estranged father, Marcus Didius Geminus, Falco is certainly not his usual effervescent self.

Relieved to have something other than his own misfortunes to focus on, Falco, with the help of his friend Petronius, takes it upon himself to investigate the case of a missing couple who once supplied statues to his father. The involvement of the Claudii - a clan of Imperial freedmen - soon comes into question and a plot involving a grisly murder begins to unravel.

The Imperial Chief Spy, Anacrites, soon catches wind of Falco and Petronius’ investigation and, as usual, snatches it away from them. With the plot thickening by the moment, Anacrites’ shunning does little to stop the determined detectives, for whom the threat of personal jeopardy mounts as evidence regarding the psychotic killer they pursue sidles increasingly closer to home.

This compete and unabridged CD audiobook of ‘Nemesis’, engagingly read by Christian Rodska, is also available to download in MP3 format.
