Customer Reviews

The master and creator of Regency romance returns again with what is widely considered to be her best title of all.

‘Friday’s Child’ tells the story of the fast-living Viscount Sheringham, whose vast income is steadily burning away as a result of his frivolous lifestyle and gambling habits. This does little to impress the object of his affections, heiress Isabella Milborne, who rejects him for his wild ways. But Sheringham is not a man to take rejection lightly. Storming off in a fit of rage, he vows to Isabella that he will marry the first woman he meets. Of course, the ramifications of his actions are narrated with the author’s distinctive aptitude for wit and irony.

Believed to be Georgette Heyer’s favourite of all of her Regency romances, ‘Friday’s Child’ is the author at her very best. Meticulously researched and painstakingly historically accurate with strong doses of humour, passion and sentimentality, it is easy to see why this title has been such a success over the years.

Narrated by Eve Matheson, this CD audiobook will bring joy to listeners. All Georgette Heyer titles are also available to download as audiobooks on MP3 so you can develop your collection in the format of your choice.
