With a name like Hope Eternal, the Eleventh doctor, Amy and Rory might have been forgiven for thinking that their arrival on the massive volcanic, so-called ‘super-earth’ planet might have been marked by some optimistic or life-affirming occurrence. Unfortunately, what they get instead is a corpse.
But it’s not just any old dead body. This one’s XXXL size, an interesting shade of purple and covered in scales - yet somehow oddly familiar. Enter the Nu-Humans, a race descended from human beings that have altered their own DNA sequencing to allow them to adapt more readily to the harsh environment of Hope Eternal. Until now it had all been going rather well, that is until someone, or something, started picking off the Nu-Humans one by one.
In this original story written exclusively for audio by Cavan Scott and Mark Wright, it falls to the Doctor and his companions to figure out exactly what is going on and put things right before there are even worse consequences for the Nu-Humans, and for our intrepid travellers. This exciting new Doctor Who adventure is read by Raquel Cassidy, and offers all the outlandish settings and mind-bending action that we’ve come to expect from the Doctor in his many forms.
