Roger Allam is a fantastic as the wily and naturally brillant pilot First Officer Douglas, Benedict Cumberbatch superb as the distinctly adequate Captain Crief but John Finnemore has probably written himself most of the best lines!

Cabin Pressure is a Radio 4 sitcom focussing on the ups and downs of MJN Air, the world’s smallest airline. Written by John Finnemore (who also appears as the over-enthusiastic Arthur), Cabin Pressure is in the hands of a supremely talented cast including Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch (Martin), Tenko and Waiting for God star Stephanie Cole (Carolyn) and Olivier Award-winner Roger Allam (Douglas).
It relies on the classic elements of the great sit-coms to create something that is both new and funny, yet as dependable as the comedies of the Golden Age of Television. The first episode sets the tone and pace for the rest of the series. Carolyn’s attempts to stop her pilots wasting company money have disastrous consequences as they follow her instructions to the letter. Arthur takes on the catering duties and is concerned as to how aeroplanes actually fly, whilst the pilots entertain themselves with a game of ‘Brians of Britain.’
This fast-paced and witty sit-com is for those who like their comedy wry and dry, smattered with intellectual gags as well as some good old-fashioned silliness. Cabin Fever is British radio comedy at its best and has been deservedly hailed as ‘unexpectedly brilliant’ by Time Out magazine.
