Galaxy 4 both delighted and terrified British audiences when it was first broadcast on BBC television back in 1965, featuring William Hartnell the very first incarnation of the Doctor.
After landing on an eerily quiet planet, the Doctor- along with his companions Steven and Vicki- originally assumes that they have embarked upon an uninhabited world. He is swiftly proven wrong when they discover two totalled spaceships: one owned by a race of beautiful but wicked Drahvins, the other by the ugly but amiable Rills.
The reptilian Rills are quick to inform the crew of the dangers that lie in wait on the dying planet. Surrounded by the mindless Drahvin clones, the Doctor and his accomplices are flung into panic when they realise that time is rapidly closing in on them. They desperately need to escape before it’s too late. But the Drahvins want exactly the same thing… and there’s only one vehicle intact.
Over forty years after it was first broadcast, you now have the exciting opportunity to rediscover this classic Doctor Who story with this full-cast dramatisation. This exclusive recording of a lost BBC episode soundtrack, available on CD or MP3 audiobook, is linked by Peter Purves’ engaging narration.
