There may be trouble ahead... so will Agatha face the music? Can the feisty Agatha cut it as a private investigator?
She soon learns that running her own detective agency in the Cotswolds is not quite like starring in a Raymond Chandler novel. But then in walks wealthy divorcee Catherine Laggat-Brown, and Agatha is given her first real case. Death threats, blackmail and physical attack soon follow, and once again Agatha is off scouring the countryside for clues and showing friends and enemies alike what Raisin Investigations can do!
Penelope Keith - who starred as Agatha Raisin in the popular BBC Radio 4 series - reads M.C. Beaton’s entertaining murder mystery.

I like the Agatha Raisin books and love this feisty and eccentric heroine. I especially enjoy listening to Penelope Keith read them as she makes the perfect Agatha Raison.
In earlier books Agatha is very sure of herself but is beginning to realise that she also may have failings which makes her more believable. In this book Agatha opens her own detective agency which quickly takes off. She very rapidly moves from finding cats to finding murderers. The book is positively littered with dead bodies and you never know what is going to happen next. I was kept guessing until the last minute, and the twists and turns made me want to keep reading. For those of you who like Agatha Raisin this is a good one, and I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. (Posted on 6 May 2013)
