John le Carré Audio Books to Buy and Download
John le Carré taught at Eton before becoming an MI5 officer. In 1960, he was transferred to MI6, the foreign intelligence service, and worked under “Second Secretary” cover in the British Embassy at Bonn.
It was then that he discovered his passion for writing, and his third novel, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, launched his career in 1963, after which he left the service to devote himself to writing. Two of his books, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Smiley's People were adapted for BBC TV starring Alec Guinness as George Smiley. Other novels have been adapted for the cinema screen including The Tailor of Panama, The Constant Gardener and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
