P.G. Wodehouse was born in 1881 and died in 1975 on St Valentine’s Day, only weeks after being knighted. He is most famous for the creation of Jeeves and Wooster.
Jeeves and Wooster were perhaps PG Wodehouse’s most famous characters, and in this new audiobook collection we are drawn into their hilarious lives once again in ‘Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves’. Wodehouse wrote 11 Jeeves and Wooster books that follow the highly improbable and uproarious situations into which the twosome regularly find themselves immersed.
In ‘Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves’, Wooster makes his way back to Totleigh Towers where he is met by the awful Madeline Bassett who previously set her sights on marrying the terrified Wooster. However, Madeline is now engaged to Wooster’s childhood friend Gussie Fink-Nottle but as she digs her claws into the seemingly oblivious Gussie, Wooster attempts to rescue him from a life most miserable. Throw in a rivalry between avid art collectors, a reverend with an over-eager fiancée and a fight over a vegetarian diet and you have a story that only Jeeves and Wooster could find themselves embroiled in!
English theatre star Jonathan Cecil provides the voice for Bertie Wooster in this CD audiobook with a running time of five hours and nine minutes, which is also available as an MP3 downloadable audiobook. Get tangled up in the side-splittingly funny shenanigans of Jeeves and Wooster as they return to Totleigh Towers to create more mayhem than in their first disastrous visit…
