‘Lady of Quality’ was the last novel ever to be published during the lifetime of its commendable author, Georgette Heyer.
As accessible now as it was when it was first published in 1972, the story focuses on the complicated romance between the careless rogue Oliver Carleton and the wealthy, fiercely independent heroine, Annis Wynchwood. But what Oliver lacks in manners and civility, he makes up for in passion and experience. His liberating independence attracts the like-minded Annis, but is she willing to sacrifice her own freedom for a rake such as him?
‘Lady of Quality’ is testament to Georgette Heyer’s passion and masterful craft, which contributed to the huge success of her many Regency romance novels. She is said to have invented the genre, with her meticulous research and attention to accuracy with regards to the period she explored in her novels.
Heyer’s vibrant characters and engaging storylines have endured the test of time and, to this day, remain popular and admirable literary achievements. This compelling CD audiobook, also available to download in MP3 format, is narrated by Eve Matheson. So sit back and enjoy a journey back in time to a setting of fiery romance in Regency England.
