Customer Reviews

Philomel Cottage is a short story written by none other than the queen of crime writing herself: Agatha Christie. Christie is the most translated author of all time with her stories having been interpreted into a staggering 103 different languages. Her imagination was seemingly boundless as she wrote over 200 novels during an illustrious career that has cemented her place as today’s most successful writer ever.

In Philomel Cottage, we meet Alex, and Terry who have set up a company and their exciting venture is going better than one could ever have anticipated. However, the company was worryingly set up with Alex’s money and her lovelorn admirer Richard makes it clear that he doesn’t trust Terry’s intentions. In true Christie-style their success will be short lived and trouble starts to brew as money goes missing from Alex’s account. But is Terry to blame or is the historic cottage with the pretty rose-framed door behind the mystery?

This CD audiobook, which is also available as an MP3 download, has a running time of 27 minutes, which is long enough to delve into the lives of these budding entrepreneurs living in a seemingly idyllic cottage, but what secret does the cottage hold and will it only spell the end of their business or will they pay with their lives?
