During her time working as a nurse in Iraq, Amy Leatheran is excited to be invited on a dig by the celebrated archaeologist, Dr. Leinder, in order to look after his troubled wife. The terror in Mrs. Leinder’s eyes is alarming and seems unfounded, until she takes Amy into her confidence. Amy is concerned for Mrs. Leinder’s safety after she hears the frightened woman’s dark secret about a series of threatening letters, written to her from her supposedly dead first husband.

Before long, events take an unexpected turn for the worst and it’s up to the moustached Belgian detective Hercule Poirot to dig up the startling facts of another gripping Agatha Christie mystery.

This BBC Drama adaptation of the Queen of Crime’s 1936 whodunit is brought to life by a distinguished cast of actors and actresses, including John Moffatt as the nation’s well-loved crime solving sleuth, Poirot.
