The cunning, moustachioed Hercule Poirot, is not a man who appreciates his precious time being wasted. Accordingly, he is initially highly irritated when an old friend, crime fiction novelist Ariadne Oliver, sends for him to investigate a fictional murder hunt she been commissioned to set up for a fete at Nasse House- the home of Sir George Stubbs. It is not until he discovers the validity of her concern that somebody may be using the hypothetical murder hunt and preparing to put it into real practice, that Poirot accepts the case as an increasingly alarming and very real investigation.
As fiction turns to grisly fact, the detective plays his hand in what quickly becomes far more than just a game, with a huge amount at stake.
