Brilliant actors, sound and direction make this one of my favourite of the BBC Christie collection, but not one to listen to at bedtime! (Posted on 9 February 2013)

There certainly are a lot of characters in this play and we were concerned that we would loose track of them all but that was not the case. Geoffrey Whitehead plays one of the main characters. His voice is very distinctive and I always think of him from comedy programs such as “The worst week of my life” and “Rigor Mortis” so the tension was not at its peek for me.
If you were on an island with a homicidal maniac loose would you wander off by yourself? I would tell everyone that we must all stay together at all times so that the maniac did not have a chance to do their worst.
A good story and production for all that and very entertaining. Well worth the £1.99 I paid for it.

No detective in sight here, just a secluded island far off with 12 persons trapped on it.
Claustrophobic and haunting it reveals the abyss of human betrayal and crime step by step - and the sheer variety of means how to take another person´s life makes one´s hairs stand on end.
Sepulchral and definitely shocking ... though in perfect A.C. style!
A HUGE recommendation! (Posted on 7 September 2012)

‘And Then There Were None’ has been widely described as one of the darkest and most original novels ever written by the Queen of Crime Fiction, Agatha Christie.
Based on the haunting ‘Ten Little Soldier Boys’ rhyme, the chilling tale begins when ten guests are invited to a remote island by the enigmatic stranger, ‘U.N Owen’. Perplexed and wondering why their host has invited them to the remote location, the guests arrive, collectively unaware that they are never going to leave. Fear escalates as over the following days and nights, each of the arrivals are picked off one by one, savagely murdered in accordance with the nursery rhyme. In a desperate attempt to save their own lives, the remaining guests group together and act as detectives of an on-going crime which could claim any one of them at any moment.
This gripping full-cast BBC audiobook dramatisation of Agatha Christie’s nightmarish tale is rife with the tension, suspense and startling twists that captivated the original novel’s first audiences over 50 years ago. Starring a distinguished cast of actors and actresses including Lyndsey Marshal, Geoffery Whitehead and John Rowe, this CD audiobook is sure to both delight and startle all those who enjoy a good murder mystery.
This title is also available to download as an MP3 audiobook.
